Subject: Living conditions in slums.

Sir/Madam
Through the columns of your widely-read newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of authorities to the miserable living conditions in the slums. The difficult situation in which they make their survival is not only difficult but also unbearable. There is no drainage system, no light, there are huge garbage dumps and these slums lack basic civic amenities.

These slums in the city are getting overcrowded also because more and more people are moving to cities due to the lack of job opportunities and poverty in villages.

I would like to suggest that state governments should create more job opportunities, bring changes in the policies and provide infrastructure to check mass migration. Another issue that needs serious attention is the sanitation and health sector. NGOs should come forward and help the ones in need.
